Fire Destroys Second Floor of House - 01.13.2009
On Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 12:37 PM, the Monroe Fire Department was alerted for the report of a structure fire in the 1000 block of 25th Ave. Upon arrival, nothing was observed from the outside. Upon entering the residence, crews found heavy black smoke on the second level. The fire was found in a rear bedroom. The fire was quickly knocked down and damage was contained to the second level. The fire was caused by improper disposal of smoking material.
