Vehicle Strikes Gas Meter - 06.18.2008
On June 18, 2008 at 5:13 am, the Monroe Fire Department was alerted for a gas leak in the 700 block of 17th Ave. Upon arrival, crews found a broken gas main the trailer court. It was determined that a vehicle had struck the meter causing it to break off below the shut off valve. We Energies responded to the scene to secure the meter. Crews remained on scene for roughly two hours. Citizens in the trailer court were evacuated from their residence until the gas leak was secure.
