Boiler Malfunction at Monroe Lumber - 02.01.2008
On February 1, 2008, the Monroe Fire Department was alerted for a possible chimney fire at Monroe Lumber.  Upon arrival crews found the chimney to be extremely hot. When crews inspected the chimney from the roof, there was material in the chimney, but nothing burning.  Interior crews opened the access panel to the chimney and removed ash from the chimney.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that there was no chimney fire and that the boiler had malfunction.  Crews remained on scene roughly 1.5 hours.  There was no damage to the building and the entire boiler system was replaced.
