Fuel Spill - 07.07.2006
On July 7, 2006 at 0345 hours, the Monroe Fire Department was alerted for a fuel spill at the Super 8 Motel. A semi tractor was attempting to leave the motel parking lot when the semi hit a pole, causing the fuel tank to rupture. When crews arrived, there was diesel fuel leaking from the right-hand saddle tank. Approximately 20 gallons of fuel spilled before the leak was controlled. The Monroe Police Department assisted on the call. Crews remained on scene for about 2 hours.
