Hot Hay Starts Barn Fire - 09.17.2011
On September 17, 2011, The Monroe Fire Department was alerted to the intersection of Hwy 69 and Cty DR for the report of a barn fire. Upon arrival, crews found a barn that was fully involved. A MABAS alarm was activated bring units from Juda, Browntown, Monticello, Brodhead, Cedarville adn Orangeville to the incident. Items lost in the fire included about 100 round bales of hay and equipment in the lower part of the barn. It was determined that two round bales outside the barn started from spontanious combustion.
