On Saturday April 17, the Monroe Fire Department was alerted to the 900 block of 9th Ave for the report of a garage fire. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the detached garage.  While crews were setting up, there were two explosions from oxygen cylinders inside the garage.  The fire was under control with in 20 minutes.  The garage and the contents with in were a total loss.  There was one injury reported during the incident.  The cause of the fire is being investigated by Monroe Police Department.
